Prof. Sonali De 

Sonali De is a Professor of Psychology in the University of Calcutta, India, and She is served as the departmental chair 2013 to 2015 and 2018-2020. Thrice she served as member of Calcutta University Senate. She holds a doctorate in Psychology, specializing in Social Psychology, and topped the University examinations in post-graduation receiving gold medal.  Her research interests span from gender issues to women’s problems, to media psychology, to identity politics. Much of her work has been on improving the lives and living of women and persons of the third genders. She guided many doctoral researches and had been the Principal Investigator in many Research Projects. She pioneered the use of Qualitative Research Methodology in Psychology in University of Calcutta. Under her guidance qualitative research methods were used in many post-graduate and doctoral dissertations, as well as funded research projects. Her research papers have been published in many renowned journals, and she presented many symposiums in national and international conferences. She delivered invited talks and conducted many workshops in various academic departments of different Universities to develop understanding of qualitative research methodology in West Bengal. She is serving as the Secretary General of National Academy of Psychology, a prime body of Psychologists in India.
